Navwidth: WiFi Network and Hotspot Locator App

This project took place in the course 'Interactive Design' during the fall semester of my Senior year of college, and was later refined during 'Design Portfolio' in Spring 2020. The project required students to conceptualize a task-based application based on user research. The app that I designed was Navwidth, a WiFi Network and Hotspot Locator. The app was designed to assist users in locating only the most optimal internet connections. By enabling location services on their device, users could locate optimal Wi-Fi hotspots within their current network, as well as other sufficient networks entirely.

This would allow them to seamlessly perform the most high-fidelity tasks on their device with little to no connection interference. More specifically, Navwidth would allow users to test the current connection speeds of their device, locate strong hotspots within their network via signal detection or user reviews, and locate entirely different network locations that specifically have strong connection speeds via a map function.

A link to the prototype developed within InVision is provided below, and a short commercial for the app is also displayed within this page's gallery.
